The location was perfect to also explore the jungle, the room was beautiful decorated, also the staff were the nicest people we ever met. So kind and always wanted the best for us! My name is Marcel 79yr old Swiss Tourleader for 45 years worldwide. Luckily I found Orangutan sumatra tour and trek on Google and wanted to book a 2 day tour of jungle trekking. Medan to Bukit Lawang and get an overnight at their lovely house over the river and beautiful setting.. Upon arrival I was warmly greeted by owner Dedek, who is also cooking delicious local indonesian food. Very kind and helpful! Dedek offered me for the trekking a small backpack. quickly organised an extra guide to help me climbing the steep forest jungle and descend safely to the overnight camp. They then organised for me specially an easier trekking and a fun river rafting (tubing) at the end.. I saw Orang Utan mother with baby, many other monkeys and a green snake. I then added one more night till monday morning.
Perfect location for exploring the lovely village of Bukit Lawang and to stage your jungle expedition. Welcoming hosts, spectacular riverside location. Great food and comfortable accommodations. Hope I am able to return, and if I do, I'll be staying here again.
I was staying here for 4 nights and totally enjoyed the perfect location of the guesthouse, the panoramic view from the balcony and great food served in Fido Dido. Room was very clean and family that own this guesthouse so friendly and helpful. Also we take a nephew of the owner as a guide and had an amazing jungle trip through the jungles. Highly recommended!

What is the maximum of people that can be brought on an adventure in one group?
🥾 Group Size & Jungle Adventure Experience To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, our jungle treks are usually limited to a maximum of 6 people per group. This keeps the journey more personal, allows better interaction with guides, and ensures everyone moves comfortably through the forest. But don’t worry — if you’re traveling in a group of 7 or more, we’ve got you covered! Groups of 8–10 people will be split into smaller teams, each with their own licensed guide and assistant, but still heading on the same route. You'll walk side by side, take breaks together, and share all the laughter, songs, and stories along the way. Because an adventure isn’t just about the trail — it’s about the memories you create with the people beside you. So bring your friends, sing with your group, and make every step a story worth remembering. The jungle is calling — and the journey never really ends
What animals can we find in the wild forest?
Every trek is different — one day you might hear the calls of gibbons echoing through the trees, the next you could spot hornbills flying overhead or Thomas leaf monkeys jumping through the canopy. If you're lucky, you may encounter Sumatran orangutans, often seen near the old feeding area. Other possible sightings include curious macaques, colorful birds, and even the occasional snake. For cancellations made 1 to 3 days before the trek, your deposit will be fully refunded — 100%, no questions asked. For cancellations made more than 3 days in advance, a 10% deduction will be applied to the deposit. This is to cover the costs of arrangements that were already in progress.
